January 6 – February 3, 2018 at GALLERY de FOX, Santa Ana, CA
GALLERY de FOX presents Healing Circles: Mandalas for Marinke, a collaborative crochet art installation by San Francisco-based crafter and writer Kathryn Vercillo and the local crochet collaborative Threadwinners (Alyssa Arney and Liz Flynn).
Opening reception: Saturday, January 6, 6-10pm
Open gallery & crochet circle gathering: Saturday, January 20, 2-5pm
Special workshop event: Saturday, January 27, 2-6pm – Details TBA soon
Closing reception: Saturday, February 3, 6-10pm
Admission is free (except to TBA workshop event); donations are welcome. Books and art from the project will be available for sale. A portion of proceeds from exhibition sales will go towards the next steps of the Mandalas for Marinke project.
November 5 – 26, 2017 at Grab Bag Studio, Long Beach, CA
I have collaborated with the amazing crochet art duo Threadwinners who are coordinating the show in November at Grab Bag Studio. For this show, a selection of the mandalas were on 24-hour display in the lighted window of the artist co-op space from 11/5 – 11/26. Threadwinners hosted an opening reception brunch on 11/5. Together, we hosted a workshop and crafting experience on 11/18. See full blog post here.
