Wink shared her love of color in her Tuts+ tutorial for dip dyed crochet bottle cozies, writing:
“It’s amazing how a little pop of colour can change the look of something entirely! I love the possibilities of this quick and fun project! You can use any neon colour to give your crochet work a little pop, and by changing the amount of neon yarn you use, you will create that much sought-after dip-dyed look!”
About Depression
One purpose of this project is to raise awareness about depression so each post ends with some facts, thoughts or quotes about depression, suicide and/or mental health. Today I wanted to let you know about the resource HeadsUpGuys, which is a weskit specifically for men dealing with depression. Men are more likely to complete suicide and definitely struggle with depression but they often don’t talk about it as much, due in part to the stigma around the topic. This site aims to provide a safe manly space for that conversation to happen. It provides practical information about depression, tips for living with depression and personal stories from men in this situation.
All contributions to Mandalas for Marinke are welcome and will help raise awareness about depression while honoring her work in the same way that this great contribution has done today. Details to join here. Deadline is to have all mandalas into the mail no later than 10/15/15.
