Beautiful Crochet Mandala

Amy's Crochet MandalasForMarinke

I love many things about this spoke crochet mandala, especially how there are different shades of each color grouped together in rounds (yellows, then reds/pinks then blues). The soft cream spokes accent it all perfectly. It’s made using Wink’s pattern in Issue 17 of Simply Crochet Magazine.

About Depression

Crochet Mandala by Amy for Wink

One purpose of this project is to raise awareness about depression so each post ends with some facts, thoughts or quotes about depression, suicide and/or mental health. Today is the first day of the 25th annual Mental Illness Awareness Week. The theme this year is building a movement around being stigma-free.

stigma free

NAMI says:

“Being Stigma Free means learning about and educating others on mental illness, focusing on connecting with people to see each other as individuals and not a diagnosis, and most importantly, taking action on mental health issues and taking the StigmaFree pledge. The hashtag for the theme is #IAmStigmaFree.”

And I love that NAMI says it’s about replacing Stigma with Hope.

All contributions to Mandalas for Marinke are so appreciated. They help raise awareness about depression while honoring her work in the same way that this great contribution has done today.
