Mandalas for Marinke is a collaborative crochet art project. People have sent in so many beautiful contributions, and I’ve been posting them almost daily (although I took some time off in December because it was such a busy month). Each post includes the mandala, any messages the maker shared, and some depression awareness raising information. Here’s a roundup of the posts that went live on the blog in December and January, in case you missed any … or just want to enjoy seeing them all in one place!
Month: January 2016
Today’s contribution to the Mandalas for Marinke project comes from someone I believe wanted to remain anonymous. However, I confess that things have gotten a little disorganized around here since I got rescue pup Katara so if for some reason I’ve made a mistake and you’re the maker and want to claim it, please do let me know.
This pretty crochet mandala that builds outwards in color from light pink to dark pink, through purple then green, comes to us from Christina Federici of TinasToastyToes.
Kate, who created this crochet mandala bracelet, says, “For me, the repetition and counting required to follow a pattern can sometimes drown out the terrible thoughts that fill my mind.”
Today’s bright, bold, beautiful crochet mandala for the Mandalas for Marinke depression awareness art project is from Maddy in Pennsauken, New Jersey, who can be found on Instagram @maddylopez324.

The exquisite crochet mandala that you see here today is from Janice Davey who created it using the butterfly peacock crochet mandala pattern by Wink. This post also shares a suicide memoir that I’m touched by.
Shelley in Ohio has sent in this beautiful package for the Mandalas for Marinke project. It includes four different crochet mandala rugs, which will be set up with the other rugs I’ve received to create a cozy crafting corner at the Mandalas for Marinke art show (which I’ll have more information about in a month or so).
Svetlana, the crochet designer from @crochet_off, has created this new mini mandala free crochet pattern. She has named this pattern Gzhel and she has created it in tribute to Wink.
The beautiful crochet mandala that you see here in today’s post for the Mandalas for Marinke project comes to us from Felicia Jones, “just a regular woman who loves crochet, cats, reading and movies”.
