I can’t believe how many months of daily posts I’ve been able to do using the beautiful, inspiring, amazing crochet Mandalas for Marinke that you’ve all sent in for this special project. It continued throughout February and there are still several more months of daily posts left to go. Here’s the roundup of those posted this month.
Month: February 2016
These crochet mandalas for the Marinke project are bright and exciting and so fun to look at it! They come to us from Wee Witchy Steph of the Show and Tell blog who included a beautiful drawing with the message, “a light may go out of this world but the memory of it will burn brightly and beautifully forever”.
I love the thick sparkling white yarn that makes up the edging and spokes on this crochet mandala by Arienne, who is “a Florida mom of 2 amazing young ladies” that says, “I’ve been a crazy crocheter for over 20 years!”
This crochet mandala draws me in with the subtle color changes on the edges and the bolder color changes in the center. It’s a version of the 12 round crochet mandala pattern by Wink that’s been crocheted by Leigh.
Today for Mandalas for Marinke we’ve got two crochet mandalas made by Holly, who can be found on Instagram @yarngirl2012. One is made using a Wink crochet pattern and the other is not; they have some similarities and complement each other so well.
This post was contributed anonymously. It’s a terrific variation on the rainbow, made primarily in rainbow colors but with moments of white and grey as well.
Today’s crochet Mandalas for Marinke contribution is a beautiful spoke mandala with bright sunshine yellow spokes that made me smile. I also really liked the wavy white round; it adds a sense of movement to the mandala. Captivating.
In yesterday’s post I shared some information on the possibility of animal suicide from the book Animal Madness. Today I wanted to share a quotation that I found in that book. It is by Pam Houston, from Contents May Have Shifted.
This succulent crochet mandala, made using Wink’s spoke mandala pattern, comes to us from Nicolas Martine in France.
Yesterday’s crochet mandala by Kirstie came in a package with another mandala – today’s contribution by Emily. It looks like they used the same Stylecraft Special DK yarn to make their crochet mandalas, but while Kirstie used Wink’s I Love Holland crochet mandala pattern, Emily used her Summer Hearts mandala pattern.
