These beautiful floral crochet mini mandalas are from Maryann in Massachusetts. She decided to make these mandalas as a Lenten project, crocheting one for each week of Lent.
Updated: This post previously had an error in it, identifying Maryann as a Canadian participant who had already sent in one contribution. This was a different Maryann. Apologies for the error!
Maryann made these using the mini mandala pattern from Pink Mambo. This is a good time to remind you that all mini-mandalas for this project, which will be handed out to those in need of inspiration and support, are due to be postmarked by April 30, 2016. More details here.
This pretty set of mandalas came with an Irish card featuring the classic Claddagh symbol of a heart topped by a crown and surrounded by hands, reading “friendship, loyalty, and love”, which Maryann reminds us we could all use.
She adds in this note,
“Thank you for creating this depression awareness project honoring Wink. My teen daughter suffers from depression. I use crochet as a means to help me cope.”
Maryann can be found as knitcentral on Ravelry and walshcentral on Instagram.
This post is part of the Mandalas for Marinke remembrance project.
