Here you’ll find links to all of the contributions from the Mandalas for Marinke project posted in June. It was my goal to get all contributions photographed and posted by this time, one year after the sad news of Marinke’s death. I succeeded in getting them all photographed and loaded into the blog but am still organizing the actual posts. Therefore, the project is continuing into July.
Month: June 2016
“Here is my contribution to Mandalas for Marinke. Thank you so much for doing this – it’s great to have something we can DO to express our love for Wink, our sadness at her loss, and to do something to help the fight against depression.
This lovely contribution to the Mandalas for Marinke project comes from Kate of Signed With an Owl (also on Instagram).
Emmy says, “I learned how to crochet when I had lost all hope. Then I read Crochet Saved My Life, and I knew crochet was for me. “
Mandy of RedAgape, who crocheted Wink’s Picots and Petals Mandala, describes herself as a “crochet obsessed guesthouse owner, blogger and photographer”.
Michelle shares, “I taught myself to crochet last June / July and quite honestly I think it kept me sane at a very difficult time, since my brother took his life at the end of last July.”
A gorgeous crochet mandala rug for the Mandalas for Marinke project. This was contributed by Valerie.
Jennifer in Maine says, “I am a crocheter and a social worker. I was inspired by Wink to create and learn. I was spurred on by her death to help raise awareness about depression.”
Lika (@likalu on Ravelry) contributed these three crochet mandalas to Mandalas for Marinke – two made from Wink’s “crochet mandala for your home” pattern and one made with her 12-round standard crochet mandala pattern
This mandala comes from Susan of Musings and Susings who shares her story of recovering from a stroke through the use of crochet.
