This contribution to the Mandalas for Marinke project comes to us from Rosalind who can be found as @frenchthrifty on Twitter. She shares, “I am a mother of four (three sons, one daughter) and grandmother of three (two girls and one boy) who call me MoMo. I am passionate about crochet, knitting and cross-stitch. I am finishing a PhD at The University of Cambridge in the UK.” She adds:
Wink was an inspiration! She was beautiful, funny, and very creative. I only found her blog relatively recently (within a year) but she had me “hooked” straight away.
To Marinke’s family, “I came across Marinke’s blog and work relatively recently. I was enchanted straight away. I meant to post a note to her about Asperger’s Syndome, because my daughter has it, too (diagnosed at age 23). I understood, to an extent, what it might have meant to her to have received this diagnosis.
I am so very, very sorry for your loss of Marinke. She was such a beautiful and creative person. I shall keep on crocheting using her patterns. She touched my heart. I hope that the project for her mandalas will bring you all some comfort in knowing she was loved and admired so much.”
Visit all posts in the Mandalas for Marinke project to learn more about different aspects of depression and mental health issues and, of course, to see many beautiful crochet mandalas.
Good work, Rosalind!
