This contribution to Mandalas for Marinke comes from Marion of MBLDesigns who writes,
“Thank you for taking on this project for depression awareness. I only learned about this and Wink a few months ago. I’m so sorry for all her family and friends.
“I know a lot about depression and suicide. I’ve attempted dozens of times in the past ten years. The last one landed me in ICU for 3 days and a behavioral clinic for 7. I had OD’d on migraine pain meds. I’ve had daily migraines for almost 20 years. I was on 8 different prescriptions to stop them and help with the depression and bipolar that came from them. I was taken off all 8 cold turkey.”
“It has been two years, and I’m doing better, because I found painting in the clinic and started crocheting almost constantly. My mom taught me to knit and crochet when I was little, and my therapist said it was a great idea. Then I found your blog and have been reading it daily. I’m amazed at how many of us go through this and come out crafting.”
“I am sending you some little mandalas along with an angel and a butterfly. I do a lot of wedding alterations and give all my brides a butterfly as a symbol of new life and hope. So I send one to you for Wink’s family.”
