Here’s another beautiful spoke crochet mandala. I love the way that the pink colors look like flowers in a field of green grass!

Wink made a free crochet lap rug pattern for Tuts+ in which she wrote:
“People will admire the hard work that went into making all those squares and triangles, so it’s time to wow the crowds with your stunning lap rug! Because you’ve made it on the diagonal, your blanket will stand out from the rest. Not to mention, it’s nice to snuggle under with a nice cup of tea!”
About Depression
One purpose of this project is to raise awareness about depression so each post will end with some facts, thoughts or quotes about depression, suicide and/or mental health. We previously looked at some depression tattoos; today I wanted to mention the annual Tats 4 Life fundraiser.
Elaine Larsen and her husband lost her son Cody to suicide in 2011. They participate in the annual Out of Darkness Walk and also host the annual Tats 4 Life; “The event raises money for suicide awareness and prevention, and it’s a way to tell other families they are not alone when a suicide occurs.”
Unrelated to this event, but on the topic of tattoos related to depression/ suicide, I wanted to share this tattoo that a college student got, which has been raising awareness about depression since it went viral online:
If you’re looking at it from the outside, it looks like it reads “I’m Fine” but when she herself looks at it from her angle, it reads “Save Me”, which speaks so much to what it can feel like to have depression.
