Crochet Mandalas for Marinke - October Roundup

Thank you again to everyone who has supported Mandalas for Marinke, through contributing mandalas, following along with the posts, commenting or silently appreciating what people are doing or whatever you’ve been able to do to lend your support. Every single step is appreciated. The deadline for the contributions has passed. There are still more than 100 contributions that haven’t yet been posted (it might actually be closer to 200; I haven’t counted precisely) and I’ll continue posting one per day until they’ve all been posted, in an effort to remember Marinke’s beautiful crochet work and to raise awareness about depression.

I will have a full update at the beginning of the year about what will happen next with the project. I’m aiming to have the art show in May (Wink’s birthday month), and am still solidifying those details. The art book will be out by the time the show is ready (as it also serves as something of a catalog for the exhibit). There are still several options up in there about what will happen with the mandalas after the first show. I’m taking it one bite-sized chunk at a time and will keep you updated as details continue to emerge.

For now, let me share that there are at least 500 mandalas from more than 300 contributors (exact counts not in, yet). They come from 39 different U.S. States and at least 20 other countries. There are tiny mandalas and rug-sized mandalas and mandalas in every color you can thinking of. They are beautiful, and together they are an amazing display.
