We’re kicking off the February Mandalas for Marinke posts with a pretty floral contribution from Sarah of Charlisa Designs on Etsy where she shares,
“I am a fibre artist living on the rural edge of Melbourne, Australia. I knit, crochet, spin wool, sew, quilt and weave. I also design knitting and crochet patterns.”
Mostly I just want to share these pretty photos with you today, but it’s also important to me to share depression awareness, resources and information in these posts, so I’ll offer a book recommendation: My Depression: A Picture Book by Elizabeth Swados who shares the experience of chronic, repetitive depression in a memoir that’s formatted in drawings.
It’s succinct and cuts right through to the heart of what it feels like and it can be a great resource for explaining depression to others as well as for getting the feeling that there’s someone else out there who “gets it”. The book was adapted into an awarded-winning animated film.
