This contribution to the Mandalas for Marinke project comes to us from Crochet with Ganondorf who describes herself as a “crochet-obsessed fan of many fandoms.” She writes,
“Here is my contribution to Mandalas for Marinke. Thank you so much for doing this – it’s great to have something we can DO to express our love for Wink, our sadness at her loss, and to do something to help the fight against depression.
I loved Wink’s designs and had many of them on my to-do list. It will always be a source of regret to me that I didn’t make any of them while she was still alive. It would have been wonderful to be able to share them with her. But the next best thing is to be able to share them with the world in her name. I hope this will bring some small comfort to her family.
It’s still such a shock that we lost her so soon and so young, and especially since she was such a vibrant, cheerful presence, and her love of color was infectious.
I’m so grateful that we have as many of her wonderful designs as we do, but I’m so sad that we don’t get to have any more. So the work you’re doing with this project is VERY important. Your posts are so informative, and I’ve learned such a lot I didn’t know about depression. Any extra bit of information and knowledge about it is another weapon in the war against it.”
