MadWhimsy's Crochet Mini Mandalas + Uplifting Messages

Madelyn Zimmerman, aka MadWhimsy sends in these terrific mini mandalas, each with its own uplifting message on it to inspire the person who will eventually receive it. Some are quotes, some are tips, some are just beautiful thoughts and I love each and every one of them.

She writes,

“Please accept this contribution of mini-mandalas to the Mandalas for Marinke project. I used the pattern by Carolyn Christmas for all of them; some in worsted weight yarn and some in smaller crochet thread. Attached to each is a thought that may help the person who chooses it.

You do such a terrific job promoting the art of crochet and the many forms depression can take. Both are close to my heart. When my chronic migraines and constant nerve pain (also in my head) became bad enough that I had trouble doing the other art I enjoy – I learned to crochet. And fell in love with it. My daily struggle has become more difficult and I’m not able to crochet much anymore, which flares my cyclical depression and OCD, too.

My hope is that these 23 pieces will be a tiny beacon of light to people who struggle in the darkness.”
