Erin's Crochet Mandala for Wink

This contribution to the Mandalas for Marinke remembrance project comes from Erin from North Carolina who blogs at Belated Bloomer. She is a crochet novice who found Wink’s use of color uplifting and inspiring, and she says first and foremost: “You are missed Wink!”

From Erin’s blog, we learn,

“I’m a 30-something mother and small creative business owner who loves her two guys (son, Jacob, and partner, Matt), cottage and vintage decor, self-improvement and self-discovery, the domestic arts, kitties and chickens, finding inspiration in words and art, hand-lettering, reading, crafting, fabric hoarding, all things Cath Kidston, the color aqua, listening to and discovering new music, flowers, fitness and traveling. We live in a picturesque North Carolina town with our three kitties in a historic bungalow.”

Erin writes,

“Wink and her crochet creations were simply full of light and liveliness. I greatly enjoyed reading her blog and seeing the colorful, detailed projects she created and shared with her followers.

When I learned of Wink’s passing, I was deeply saddened for her, her family, and her friends. Wink’s beautiful spirit was clearly evident in her work and writings. Despite her depression, she exuded a contagious cheerfulness and passion for crochet. Not only were her patterns beautiful, her photography was artful and I admired the authenticity with which she wrote.

I wanted to contribute to MandalasForMarinke as a thank-you for Wink’s overall generosity. For a crochet novice like myself, the way she so openly and unreservedly shared her ideas, knowledge and creativity was incredibly appreciated. Her generosity, talent and kindness are missed beyond measure.”

Again, you are missed Wink!
